The First Day in Australia
Although we got plenty of sleep on the flight over, there’s something about flying to the other side of the Planet that pulls the sap out of you. If we look a little tired in those travel photos… well… …it was jet lag. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!Pete did some recon work once we checked into the hotel and found out about Darling Harbor, a nice alcove of shops and restaurants. It felt so good to get out of the hotel room and into the Sydney air. IT’S SUMMER HERE. People kept telling me that, “You know Uncle Jim, it’s going to summer over there!” When I walked outside it was like “Wow! It’s summer here!” Well, ya!
Mac, Peter and I converged on the harbor and caught a ferry ride around Sydney over to Darling Harbor. We found a nice little Italian joint, Casa de Nico and chowed down. Yummy!
There’s nothing like handcrafted Italian food to bring out the great conversation in us. In one incredible meal the topics ranged from guitar amps to compositions by Bach and Handel. Ya, these guys are not knuckle heads. The #1 comment I hear from fans is; “You’re so lucky dude!” You’re right, I am!!!
Later that day as the sun went down I saw, from my hotel room, crowds gathering around by the Sydney Opera House. I couldn’t resist spending my first evening in Sydney taking in some fresh night air, hanging with the locals and shooting some photos. Check out the full blog, photos, and more by CLICKING HERE.
