MAC McANALLY CO-PRODUCES NEW JIMMY BUFFETT ALBUM

Grammy-Nominated Artist & Songwriter Continue Long Collaboration

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Mac McAnally may have scored his first No. 1 as an artist and received more awards and nominations than at any other time in his career in 2009, but the Dec. 8 release of Jimmy Buffett's Buffet Hotel serves as a reminder of just how deep Mac's well of creativity runs. Amidst his work as a Show Dog Nashville recording artist, touring performer, CMA-winning musician and chart-topping songwriter, he remains a key collaborator with Buffett.

A longstanding member of the Coral Reefer Band, McAnally has produced a number of Buffett's studio albums including Take The Weather With You, License To Chill and Beach House On The Moon. He's co-produced Buffet Hotel with Mike Utley, and has co-write credit on three of the collection's 12 songs. Mac and Buffett teamed for "Summerzcool," the pair added Will Kimbrough to the writing session for "A Lot To Drink About" and a Buffett/Flanagan/McAnally credit goes to the album's title track.

Prior to Buffet Hotel's release, McAnally most recently was honored with a Grammy nomination for his collaboration with Kenny Chesney on the song "Down The Road," which was a No. 1 hit for the pair and was written by Mac. He was also recently honored as CMA's Musician of the Year at the Nov. 11 show, and was feted by ASCAP and Nashville Songwriters Association International for "Down The Road" as well.

McAnally's latest album Down By The River was one of the most critically acclaimed releases of his career, which has seen more than its share of accolades. He was named to the Songwriters' Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Mississippi Music Hall of Fame in 2008. He's written six No. 1 singles and is regarded as one of the foremost musicians of his time, having worked with Roy Orbison, Hank Williams, Jr., Amy Grant, Travis Tritt, Linda Ronstadt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dolly Parton and many more.
